APOSTOLATE FOR
PERPETUAL ADORATION
Pope John Paul II 45th International Eucharistic
Congress in June 1993 in Seville Spain:
"I hope that this form of perpetual adoration,
with permanent exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, will
continue into the future. Specifically, I hope that the
fruit of this Congress results in the establishment of
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in all parishes and
Christian communities throughout the world."
"The best, the sureset and the most effective way
of establishing peace on the face of the earth is through
the great power of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament."

Bishop's
Point of View
Bishop Ruben T. Profugo, D.D.
Diocese of Lucena, PhilippinesThere are three main
objections usually given when Perpetual Adoration is
proposed:
1. People will not repond;
2. Priorities will become confused: some will go to the
chapel rather than to Mass; and
3. Too dangerous in the middle of the night.
BUT NONE OF THE
OBJECTIONS ARE VALID
1. People have responded;
2. Mass attendance increased noticeably; fallen away
Catholics have returned and the number of conversions has
increased;
3. Perpetual Adoration has made my diocese safer from the
violence that previously threatened to tear it apart. It
is not dangerous to have Perpetaul Eucharistic Adoration,
but rather, it is dangerous NOT to have it because Jesus
is the only one who can protect, restore, heal and unite.

Pastor's Point of View
Fr. Clarence J. Waguestack
Our Lady of Peace, Vacherie, Louisiana
- Introducing Perpetual Adoration to Our Lady of
Peace Parish is the best thing I have ever done
for the parish.
- It has strengthened our belief in the real
presence and the importance of the Mass.
- It has strengthened my personal prayer life.
"Praying professionally," praying only
when leading the parish, is not enough for the
priest.
- This parish has a great devotion to Mary and
through this devotion we were led to Perpetual
Adoration of her Son, Jesus.
- Faith is expressed more enthusiastically by many
of the people, and they speak more of personal
favors and God's providence in their lives.
- Personal experiences of healing for individuals
and families are often reported.
- It is a source of parish unity and a more active
faith for many people.
